1964 Socorro UFO Witness Policeman Lonnie Zamora 1964 SOCORRO UFO Witness Policeman Lonnie Zamora : Ben Moss And Tony Angiola

On an unassuming day in April 1964, in the small town of Socorro, New Mexico, a police officer named Lonnie Zamora had an encounter that would forever change his life. Zamora witnessed a truly remarkable event that defied all understanding and left the world captivated by the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Let us delve into the astonishing story of Lonnie Zamora's encounter with a UFO.

The Socorro Incident: A Close Encounter of the Third Kind

Lonnie Zamora was on his routine patrol near the outskirts of Socorro when he heard an unusual roaring sound. Spotting a flame in the distance, Zamora immediately assumed a nearby dynamite shack was on fire. Rushing towards the scene, he anticipated finding potential danger, but what he encountered was beyond his wildest imagination.

As he approached the scene, Zamora saw an egg-shaped object approximately 15 to 20 feet in length, with peculiar red insignias on its side. It appeared to be a metallic craft resting on the ground near a ravine. Astounded by what he saw, Zamora couldn't help but feel that he was witnessing an event that defied all logic.

Before he could react, two human-like figures in white overalls scrambled towards the UFO. Overwhelmed by curiosity and disbelief, Zamora stood in awe watching this surreal scene unfold before him. As the figures noticed the policeman, they rapidly retreated back towards their craft, closing the door behind them.

Zamora's Detailed Description

Lonnie Zamora's ability to recall intricate details of the UFO and the beings he saw captivated investigators. He described the craft as metallic, with a shiny aluminum-like appearance. Distinctive red markings, similar to an inverted letter "V", adorned the side of the egg-shaped object. The beings' white overalls were seemingly devoid of any protective gear or helmets, which only added to the mystery.

Furthermore, Zamora stated that a blue flame and white smoke emitted from the craft as it ascended into the sky. The sheer precision and clarity with which Zamora recounted the event added credibility to his extraordinary claim.

Intriguing Investigations

Following that fateful day in April, various investigations were conducted to determine the authenticity of Lonnie Zamora's account. Even with skeptics trying to debunk his claims, they were met with the inability to provide a satisfactory explanation. No earthly technology at the time could recreate what Zamora described.

The incident caught the attention of reputable figures in the field of ufology, including J. Allen Hynek, who went on to classify the case as a "Close Encounter of the Third Kind." The Socorro incident remains one of the most compelling UFO encounters in modern history, largely due to Zamora's credibility as a witness and the absence of any rational explanation.

Impact on Lonnie Zamora's Life

After the encounter, Lonnie Zamora faced both curiosity and skepticism from the public. Despite the spotlight, Zamora maintained his integrity, never changing his version of events. He dedicated over two decades to law enforcement, eventually retiring as a respected police officer.

The Socorro incident defined Zamora's life, and he remained convinced that what he witnessed that day was not of this world. Zamora's encounter offers a glimpse into the lives of those who claim to have experienced close contact with unidentified flying objects and visitors from other realms.

Legacy and Ongoing Curiosity

The Socorro UFO sighting has fascinated UFO enthusiasts, researchers, and skeptics alike for over half a century. Despite numerous investigations, the encounter remains shrouded in mystery, with no definitive explanation emerging to this day.

The enduring legacy of Lonnie Zamora's encounter stands as a testament to the enigmatic and captivating world of UFO sightings. With advancements in technology and ongoing efforts to uncover the truth, who knows what astonishing revelations the future may hold?

The Socorro incident in 1964 turned Lonnie Zamora from an ordinary policeman into a witness to an extraordinary event. His encounter with the UFO and the mysterious beings he encountered left an indelible mark on his life and captivated the world. Zamora's detailed description, the lack of a rational explanation, and his unwavering integrity have made the Socorro incident one of the most intriguing UFO encounters in history. The truth behind this incident may remain elusive, but it continues to ignite our curiosity about what lies beyond the boundaries of our known world.

This book you are about to read was written for several reasons, and contains various information and events, but the glue that bonds it all together was the 1964 Socorro UFO landing case in Socorro, New Mexico in April of 1964.
Lonnie Zamora, a respected police officer in Socorro, New Mexico, witnessed a strange object pass overhead while chasing a speeder, on April 24th, 1964. Upon abandoning the chase, Lonnie followed the direction he saw the object going, into the desert, to see if there was anyone in trouble, perhaps a crashing plane.
Instead, what he saw, after climbing a difficult rise, would change his life forever, and not in the best way.
We will later go into the details of this strange and life changing encounter.
This book is also about the long journey that put Tony Angiola and I on the road to Socorro. It’s about meeting and becoming close friends with Ray Stanford, NICAPS original UFO Investigator dispatched to Socorro just days after the incident, who was welcomed on the site by Doctor J. Allen Hynek himself in 1964.
I will touch on the current state of Ufology in this year of 2019, the good and the bad, and how a Mufon Symposium in Cherry Hill New Jersey in 2014 started Tony and I on the path to many new adventures, including:
Meeting Paul Villadolid, a producer of the Mufon backed Hangar 1 in Los Angeles, which lead to us both of becoming a part of the second season of this History Channel’s very popular UFO TV show, based largely on Mufon case files.
Hearing James Fox discuss his new movie he was working on, then titled “701”, and showing a segment on the Socorro Incident, that included Ray, which triggered a memory in me about a related video and story I has seen on the tv show “Sightings” in the 1990’s.
Subsequently, at this very conference, after speaking with James, I promised him I would find what I seen on TV 20 or so years earlier, which later became a detailed investigation, now a chapter in this book entitled, “The Search for the Lost Socorro Footage”.
After publishing the first article about this search in the Mufon Journal, Mufon’s Director was contacted by Ray Stanford, who was still going strong in his late 70’s, and who also lived within driving distance of my location in Virginia. Mufon then generously put us in touch with Ray, who had reached out to him to ask who the heck we were, leading to a now 5-year relationship and 100’s of hours of UFO discussions, mentoring, and access to his wealth of knowledge about the UFO subject, his personal experiences, and especially his investigation of the Socorro incident in 1964.
Of course, first we had to pass Ray’s vigorous background check in order to make sure we were who we say we were. With a plethora of embellished and made-up resume’s with regards to individuals in the Ufology mix, Ray was just doing his due diligence to make sure we were honest and truly searching for the truth of the UFO enigma.
Now, at the end of 2019, we have recorded here for the reader our 5-year investigative deep dive into the Socorro UFO landing case, including new information and witnesses, our 2 onsite visits, and our interviews with those who were in Socorro at the time, or were friends or family with Lonnie Zamora, the respected Police officer who was the primary witness to this event.
We will also rely on Ray’s excellent investigation of this case, chronicled in his seminal book “Socorro Saucer in a Pentagon Pantry”.
