The Bermuda Triangle of the Pacific

While the Bermuda Triangle in the Atlantic Ocean holds a notorious reputation, the Pacific Ocean is not short of its own enigmatic region. Known as the "Dragon's Triangle," this area stretching from Japan to the islands of Micronesia has witnessed countless unexplained ship disappearances and airplane crashes. What dark forces are at play in this part of the Pacific?

Exploring the Shadowy Past

As we delve deeper into history, the Pacific Ocean reveals its secret tales of tragedy. From World War II battlefields to long-forgotten expeditions, lost ships are slowly being discovered, shedding light on the circumstances that led to their demise. These discoveries bring closure to families who have been tormented by the unknown fate of their loved ones.

Unveiling the Lost Souls

Among the recovered remnants of lost ships, the most haunting discoveries are the remains of the brave individuals who perished at sea. Through meticulous investigations and advanced technologies, archaeologists have been able to identify some of these souls, allowing them to be laid to rest in a way that brings solace to their families, while honoring their sacrifice and courage.

Lessons from the Past

While the tragedies in the Pacific serve as reminders of the dangers that lurk in the world's largest ocean, they also hold valuable lessons for future generations. By studying the events that led to these disasters, we can better prepare ourselves for the challenges that lie ahead at sea.

Preserving the Memories

As we continue to explore the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, it is our duty to remember the tragedies and the sailors who lost their lives. By honoring their memory and preserving their stories, we ensure that their sacrifices are not in vain and that their legacies live on in the annals of history.

The Tragedy in the Pacific is a chilling reminder of the perilous nature of the world's largest ocean. As we unravel the mysteries and honor the lost souls, we gain valuable insights into the past. There have been many theories about what happened to Amelia “Lady Lindy” Earhart, the American aviator who disappeared in July 1937 during an attempt to circumnavigate the globe by plane. But one man may have the answer to this intriguing and haunting mystery. Using his aviation skills and experience as a pilot, Captain Jan Bartelski researched her final flight to find some answers. He discovered a strange twist that may give the clues needed to find the last resting place of her Electra airplane. His first book, ‘Disasters in the Air’, analyzed cold case aircraft accidents and often came to a different result than the original investigation. His Earhart investigation was meant to be part of its sequel. Unfortunately, he passed away before the second book was ever completed. In his honor and memory, the chapter that holds the most interest of aviation and Earhart fans is being published.

Captain Bartelski served with the Polish RAF during World War 2 and after the war transitioned to become an airline pilot with a successful 40 year career. As a pilot and navigator in the early part of his civilian career, he was trained in and used the very same navigation tools as Earhart’s navigator, Fred Noonan. In addition, many of his 2000 flight hours as a navigator took place in the Equatorial Atlantic region, which has similar conditions to the area through which Earhart was flying. His experience with propeller aircraft helped him understand and interpret the known data about Earhart’s fuel usage, onboard conditions and radio communications. Combining his experience and expertise, he provides a well-researched and plausible hypothesis on the last flight of one of history’s most famous and fascinating pilots. Join Bartelski as he answers key questions and goes deeper in to why and how Earhart, Noonan and the Electra disappeared on that fateful day.

  • Did Earhart leave Lae with enough fuel to reach Howland Island and perhaps beyond?

  • Could the US Navy have found Earhart if they had reacted in a more timely fashion?

  • Would Earhart and Noonan have found Howland if they had left Lae days earlier or later?

  • Is there now enough information to make another search for the Electra viable?
