This original photographic collection includes wildlife photographs taken by August Farrow in Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge: Main Tract, Skillern Tract & Visitors' Center in Anahuac & Wallisville, Texas between January 1st 2019 & December 31st 2019.
I spent a total of 9 days at the Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge at the Main Refuge, Skillern Tract and Visitor's Center located in Wallisville and Anahuac, Texas. This is what I saw and was able to photograph at these three tracts during that time.
In this book, I will give you the exact same experience I have had – that of walking through nature and stumbling across a variety of flora and fauna without labels or descriptions.
Rather than a reference book, this is more of a photographic catalog of my observations during the time I spent there that year. Though that isn't a lot of time, I have a special knack for stumbling across an astonishing amount of wildlife - for being in just the right place at just the right time (at least when it comes to nature). I hope this book will encourage you too to go out and explore the natural world.
Please note: All insects, spiders and other animals depicted are wild or feral.
I photograph things as they are - sometimes under horrible weather conditions such as fog, rain, etc. and I do not use any special equipment. The conditions are what they are at the time.
These images have not been photoshopped or otherwise manipulated in order to depict anything other than what I actually saw in that location at that time. If you see more than one animal in a shot, more than one animal was present at the time and fit into the frame I was shooting.
Lastly, I also have a very strict non-interference policy. I do not bait, harass, touch, trap, corner or otherwise impede or restrict wildlife.
